As an owner of a yoga and fitness company, I strive to maintain a well-balanced body and mind. After I injured my neck and shoulder, Mari helped me understand the injury, taught me how to fix the problem, and made changes to my posture and mechanics that would prevent the injury from occurring again. Prior to physical therapy, I had massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic to “balance” my body, but no one else took the time to fully assess my neck and shoulder movement and postural alignment. I am now applying all of what I learned in physical therapy to everyday tasks. Thank you for all your help!

I’m a mom of 2 boys who are 2 years apart. I noticed I had diastasis recti after my first son was born because I had a visible bulge in my midsection when doing certain exercises. At the time, I didn’t do anything because soon after I got pregnant again. 6 weeks after my second son was born, I tried to do a pull-up and half way up the bulge appeared! As a personal trainer who works out and wants to make sure my body performs correctly I knew I needed to seek help from a women’s health physical therapist. Julie Enomoto was recommended to me! I showed her a video of my pull-ups and she not only noticed my bulging but also how my ribs flared! She taught me how to engage my transverse abdominis, worked with me to correct my ribs and helped me truly connect with my body. I love how meticulous and knowledgeable she is! She spends the time with me to ensure I understand how to properly perform each exercise she has prescribed for me. I love walking into the office and telling her how I’ve noticed improvements and seeing how excited she gets for me! Its evident Julie cares for her clients and wants them to achieve success! I highly recommend any woman who’s given birth to see a women’s health physical therapist, specifically Julie…she’s the best!

Holomua Physical Therapy has helped me to regain my confidence and change my mindset. After having my microdisectomy two years ago, I was told that my days of running long distance was done. I lost hope and became frustrated. I was very fortunate to be paired with my awesome physical therapist, Linda Kurihara! She definitely pushed my limits and gave me the confidence that I needed to get back out there! Of course there were set backs along the way but Linda was right there with me, every step of the way. She would give me certain exercises and stretches that challenged my physical abilities but knew my limits. There were some sessions that I was in serious pain but she worked on me and gave me that heart to heart talk to get me back out there to try it again. I may not be back at running long distance but Linda has definitely helped me defeat my worst enemy, myself. I am now swimming at least twice a week, running short spurts of sprints and have a stronger core. I never thought I’d be back out there but here I am, sharing this testimony that it is possible! All thanks to Holomua Physical Therapy and their ‘ohana oriented approach. You’re not just a client, you’re family❤ Thank you Linda!!!

When I first came to the Holomua Physical therapy clinic I had just come off a shoulder surgery. I was at a low point in my life. I had little to no mobility in my left arm but with the help of Chantelle and the caring staff of Holomua helped give me my life back. They paid attention to my specific needs and with consistent sessions I quickly gained my strength and mobility back. At the end of my rehab I regained full use of my arm and shoulder. I still use there helpful tips they’ve given to maintain my strength and mobility till today. Thank you HOLOMUA MUCH ALOHA, ALEX

I saw Therapists Neil and Lindsey for two different conditions. They helped me to understand my condition, treated the symptoms, and gave me practical tips that helped with daily movement. I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t do the homework exercises, so they personalized therapy that fit me. I have the confidence to run around again and know that Holomua is there for me when needed. They were very responsive with scheduling and always provided personalized, consistent, and continuous attention. Thank you Holomua!

I’m glad I had chosen to go to Holomua Physical Therapy.  The Waipio location was very convenient for me on my way back from work. At first, my initial thought was I’m in great shape, and this would be easy for me.  But having my first surgery back in February this was way harder than I had imagined.  Ken had worked with me during every session and was always right by my side.  Each session went smoothly and was very productive and progression was increasing every week! Thank you Ken and the rest of the Holomua Physical Therapy Staff for having a nice, clean and organized facility.

Upon receiving my fourth concussion in December 2011, I was left with agonizing headaches and consistent bouts of dizziness. Other symptoms included noise and light sensitivity, visual disturbances, and fatigue. This injured forced me to withdraw from school and ended my collegiate basketball career.

I began seeing Ryan for vestibular therapy and could not be more grateful for his continuous effort, patience, and support during my recovery. The passion and knowledge he has for his job shine through in the care he provides his patients. With his help I was able to get back into school and return my life to normal.

I came to Neil because as a surfer and a healthcare professional, I only want the best available care and services for me and my family.  And partial tear in my hamstring left me frustrated and out of the water for 2 months!  Neil explained the injury in detail, then we collectively set a game plan towards a healthy recovery.  We set goals, worked hard, communicated well, and committed ourselves towards excellence.  By week 9 we both made major strides and I felt 100% again.  Now, I’ve been surfing again and feeling great,  big MAHALO to Neil and his courage, knowledge, compassion and patience!  HOLOMUA, LIFE IS SHORT….. So get after it!!!

I suffered for many years with arthritic knees.  In 2012 I had arthroscopy on one knee and later full knee replacement on the other.  I was blessed that my surgeon recommended Holomua.  I couldn’t have asked for a better PT than Neil.  His knowledge of his craft and his compassion for his patients made going to physical therapy, not only helpful in getting back my quality of life, but also, very enjoyable.  I am no longer restricted from doing the things that I love, such as playing with my mo’opuna, hula and traveling.  If I am ever in need of physical therapy in the future, Neil and Holomua will be my choice.  I consider Neil “my” physical therapist and “my” friend.

I first met Ryan Yorimoto at Wahiawa General Hospital, where he was one of several physical therapists working with my mother, who was recovering from a hip fracture and other health related issues. When it became apparent that Ryan had become a favorite, I sat in to observe several of his sessions with her.

Ryan always worked her hard! He was aware of her limitations but did not allow them to influence the quality or length of his sessions with her. I was impressed that he refused to simply go through the motions just because of her age. His enthusiasm, competence, and professionalism sparked my mom into doing her very best!

Ryan always found a measure of time to communicate her session highlights and observations with me. Very often our conversations veered into other aspects of her physical well being besides the confines of physical therapy. Ryan’s genuine concern and interest toward my mother have led to a lasting friendship.
